Water Bogan!

That place has improved since mid-1970s.  No longer do you have to watch the light board to see if your mat time is up.  Now you get a standard-issue wrist band with your time marked on it.  Instead of 3 concrete tracks, there are 6 long ones plus an entire little-kids’ area.  The mats also seemed easier to carry.   (I noted the same thing about my snow skis 20 years ago.)

It turns out that Katie is the thrill seeker of the bunch.  She mastered the tube slides early and stayed there most of the day.  Lindsay, Karl, David and I all tried it as well.
Me:  How was it?
Lindsay:  Fun!  It was kind of sicky.
Me:  Want to go again?
Lindsay:  Nah.  I just said it was kind of sicky.
She speaks the truth.

Billy mastered the mat slides.  He nearly drowned at the bottom pool every time – the mat would go over his head – making this experience no different than any other involving water so far.
Gerry:  You OK, buddy?
Billy:  [splutter, cough, gasp]  Yes!  I want to go again!

Karl and Bradley hung out together, making the rounds to all the various venues.  Special thanks to CC for being our photographer today!

Those are Bradley's feet and that is the 'lifeguard' in the two-piece.
Did I not tell you Gayle was good at water rescue?

We ordered lunch from the Big Oak Drive-In.  I think they chopped down the actual Big Oak to put in a parking lot.  They sure needed it.  Gayle picked up the food and said the line was 40 people deep. I’m glad we called in advance!  The soft shell crab and shrimp burgers did not disappoint.

It was cloudy in the afternoon so I ran errands while CC and Lindsay went off for manicures.  Everyone else hung out at the house.  I made crab cakes for dinner, using Paula Deen’s recipe and the crab we caught the other day.  They were very good.  Gayle, David, Gerry and I topped the day off with a few competitive rounds of Sequence.
