Jamie took us out in the boat again this morning for some fishing and floating. He dropped us off on the point, then took a few of us out in the boat while the rest played by the shore. The kids caught croaker, pinfish and spot. None were big enough to keep, but that bothered none – they could catch and release all day. Thanks, Jamie!

At noon, we were chased off by this:
While the storm hit the western end of the island, we took the opportunity back home to fly kites in the wind it produced. It was also a good time to talk about Benjamin Franklin and his experiment. $3 kites actually fly well and most importantly, no one cares if you accidently let go of your string and your kite gets tangled up in your neighbor’s. Take a wild guess who let go of their string. At one point we had a 3-pack of kites held by Bradley.
No one wanted to go to the beach in the late afternoon, but Gayle and I dragged Bradley and Billy with us while the older kids stayed home with the crafts. The local brown pelicans were fishing right off shore and I had a lot of fun trying to get a good photo of them. Fail.
I learned two new card games tonight: Pictureka! and Rat-a-tat Cat. Both good.
